Done with high school, now what do I take for college?

April 12, 2008

NOTE: This is a general question inspired by this post

Since my comment didn’t really elaborate on proper advice as we would answer here on the blog, and since she commented on our tagboard, we feel that we owe you a post. Here it is, this is for you Bam! Well for your peace of mind at the least.

Taking a course up in college, in my opinion, is not a much about the matter of what you are good at but what you are interested in. When I read your post I read a lot about agriculture blurbs and chemistry-speak. But I didn’t hear much about Filipino.

The important question is what your sister is passionate about. Because

Ask your sister to picture herself in the future, what kind of job she’ll be in. And whatever course is related to that, my advice is to take that one. You have to enjoy what you are doing, because being able to say "I’m happy" a couple of years down the road is something that everyone wants to be able to say.

Hope I helped.

Does your sister want one of these? What DOES your sister want? Call me materialistic but if your sister fantasizes about living a life of luxury, apart from marrying a rich partner, pursue a career in crime, or engaging in other illegal activities, she has to earn money. Lot’s of money. Which course can make her earn more money in the future?
